Give A Second Chance To Your Furniture
If you want to give a second life to your furniture or simply want to renew it, be sure that furniture fabric will accomplish this task.
A fabric is flexible material consisting of artificial or natural fibers, and upholstery fabric is used to cover the furniture. In this case the best advice is to combine beauty and quality. Accordingly while choosing furniture fabric one must consider the following observations concerning the material.
Furniture fabric must be durable to last long. If you have a big family and if there are children or pets around, choose tough material that won’t be easily damaged or torn. Couples who care more about design are free to choose fine fabrics.
Color is the second important item that we have to consider. Color transmits climate to the room, it can be warm or cool, relaxing or aggressive, so make sure it is correctly selected and is right for your interior decor. For instance, red is associated with warmth and energy but it can also be the color of aggression or anger. Blue is a calming color and symbolizes purity. Yellow symbolizes creativeness and is the easiest color to see. All these judgments are important but, as we know, tastes differ. Usually natural fabrics are more durable in maintaining color compared with artificial or painted ones.
Fade resistance: your furniture, especially outdoor furniture, may be under direct sunlight so be sure it is sunlight resistant.
Furniture fabrics can be classified into two main groups: natural and synthetic. Natural fabrics include cotton, leather, linen, silk and wool. For example linen is very durable but not elastic. Wool is water resistant and cause the least allergic reactions. Synthetics include acetate, acrylic, nylon, olefin, polyester and so on. Polyester is not easily crinkled.
I hope that these observations will be useful to you and will be taken into consideration while designing your house and choosing your furniture fabric.
