The basement, as a rule, is the dampest place in the house. That’s why you should consider purchasing one of several types of basement dehumidifiers.

Basement dampness can cause many problems. When the moisture in the basement area surpasses 50 percent, it can cause damage to everything that is kept there, especially the furniture. A basement dehumidifier works in a very simple way: it ventilates the air, taking out the moisture in the process. The dehumidifying level can be adjusted, according to how much moisture there is in the air.

There are generally two types of dehumidifiers: permanently installed or portable. I myself prefer a portable one, as I can move it around the basement if I need to.

Of course, a dehumidifier will not make your basement as dry as your bedroom, but it’ll surely be a great help.
